INTEGRATED SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED (ISSL) ONE OF THE FINEST PRIVATE SECURITY COMPANIES IN THE COUNTRY- CELEBRATES ITS’ 28TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY:

1. Alhamdulillah : It was nice to have a gathering of the security industry stalwarts at the ISSL Headquarters yesterday. The company was celebrating their 28th Birth Anniversary. I was very happy to be present at the Iftar invitation & see the company keeping its’ high stature , name & fame intact for the last 28 years.
2. Incidentally, I was the first Managing Director of the company way back in 1995-99. We struggled hard in those days to establish a good professional private security company with high resolve having chosen a tagline ‘Professionals at Work’.
3. 28 years-a long way has been traversed. We were 5 all PMA timers. I led the Team being little senior to all of them. Col Azam & Col Rashid were there today to welcome the guests. I was remembering Maj Kamal who left us two years back. Col Iqbal Shafi one of the hardcore & founding member was missed on the occasion as he was in Chittagong. Maj Hasnat my Faujian classmate was seen supervising the anniversary arrangements. He has been there with the company for the last 27 years rendering “Indispensable” services to the company.
3. Today’s, Iftar as mentioned had all the old guards of the security industry. Having seen them I was wondering whether we are / were fulfilling one of the very hard objectives of raising the conditions of the Security Personnel, now 8 Lacs+ in numbers. Our guards are extremely low paid and we are failing to retain them for longer time in our companies. We could not raise the ‘Status’ of the security guards in the society. It’s low esteemed & remains unattractive as a profession.
4. It’s all because we are also ‘Extremely Low Paid’ by our clients. You will be flabbergasted to know that some of the Giants sectors are paying as low as Tk. 4,000/00 + to Tk 6,000/00 Taka in the bulk guarding categories. This is far far below the Minimum Wage of TK 9500 ++ recently set by the Minimum Wages Board under the Ministry of Labour.
5. Hope the industry veterans will seriously look into the subject or else the Private Security Companies/Industry will remain a low performer in terms of ‘ Quality ‘ in Bangladesh.
