VISITED GEN NASIM BB AND GEN HARUN BU IN CMH : ALSO MET GEN AZIZ BU IN THE CORRIDOR : THREE GREAT FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF OUR ARMY: THE DAY COINCIDED WITH THE 52 nd ANNIVERSARY OF MY ACCIDENT IN THE YEAR- 1971

1. Yesterday I visited two great Freedom Fighters namely Gen Nasim our Ex-Army Chief and Gen Harun. How did I feel seeing them in the hospital bed. Definitely not wished as such, to see them lying in the beds. Both of them were recovering well by the grace of Allah.
2. My visit today – i.e. on the 14th of April 2023, suddenly reminded me of one of the most memorable day of my life. I recollected my most horrific & violent- the night of 14th April 1971 – 52 years back, when I met with a very serious accident in Malir Cantt, Karachi.
3. I was riding my newly acquired Honda Motorcycle bought second hand from a Pakistani immediate senior officer at a discounted rate. The MC did not have the Head Light. So in the dark I banged hard on two Baluch Regt officers from their back. They we’re taking a leisurely walk in-front of their Mess. Banging hard I felt on my face which beside fracture of the Skull caused, they call ‘Facial Palsy’.
4. I was then admitted to CMH for around two months . The fracture of the base of the Skull had injuries , 29 in numbers. I was then transferred to PNS Shifa, the Naval Hospital & was treated by a very famous Neuro Surgeon of the time/ those days, by the name Dr. OB Jummah.
5. Full of injuries & partially paralysed-My papers were getting ready for ‘Boarding’ me out of the Army. My fate was about to be sealed. But Allah was kind & my parents must have prayed hard and gradually I began to make rather fast recovery and thereby I survived the onslaught !
6. At this point I want to thank Allah Subhanatala for being not even once admitted to the CMHs in the Country (Bangladesh) for the last 50++ years.
7. The photograph of the Motor Cycle is shown before the ill-fated accident along with the Co- rider, famous Col Tiger Rashid of the “Gradjjhu” course. In the corridor of the 2nd floor, it was very nice meeting our community welfare leader – Brigadier Sultan Uddin Iqbal.
